goodness

cairn4It’s much better to do good in a way that no one knows anything about it.

~ Leo Tolstoy

In the winter of 2012 I found four cairns in a stream that wraps along Squaw Run Road in Fox Chapel. By the summer they were gone. They were so beautiful, seemingly simple, yet must have taken countless hours to find the right rocks and build them. I never found out who put this loveliness into the world, but whenever I think about these cairns I smile. It was like finding the most beautiful, unexpected presents that snowy day.
