~ 1 John 4:4
Now this is a paraphrase, from The Way of a Pilgrim. It typically reads ‘for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world’ or ‘for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world’ But the cogent, intimacy of this paraphrase… I just feel like it strikes at the truth of those words, at least in my heart it does. For anyone who hasn’t read The Way of a Pilgrim I cannot recommend it highly enough. I actually think that book and Wild by Cheryl Strayed really dovetail with each other beautifully. Yes, Strayed is an atheist but I embrace Pope Francis’ homily towards atheists last year. And if you read anything by Strayed her heart is so bursting full of goodness and love. So, in my heart, I just feel that if you truly believe you pray for all, regardless. What is the worst thing that could happen from that?
